A new Tier 2 Weight Management Service is available in Ryedale, as part of efforts to help improve the health and wellbeing of local communities.
The commissioned service was launched on 16 November 2015 and is being managed by Everyone Active, in partnership with Ryedale District Council, utilising funding provided by North Yorkshire County Council. It is available for adults who live in Ryedale who are overweight, obese or at high risk of obesity and have been referred by their GP.
The service consists of a 12 week 'rolling' support programme, aimed at helping people make informed decisions regarding their weight and to live a healthier lifestyle. The programme consists of a 90 minute session per week. The session will be split into a 45 minute physical activity session (low intensity) and 45 minute nutritional information session.
If you think you maybe eligible for this programme, as it is a referral service you will need to make an appointment at your local GP clinic.
